RICO design is a german-based vendor of fashionable handicrafts and home decoration parts, like beads, ribbons, and scrapbooking materials. to give their large range of articles a corporate yet individual style, we built a pattern design application as a generative branding tool. input photographs are transformed into cheerful color rays, mosaic or caleidoscope images.
much effort was spent on integrating the application into the existing in-house design process and work flow. the pattern generator works cross-platform and produces print-size image products. to allow for a corporate appearance in all media, the application is soon to be extended by a motion feature, which will allow to create timeline-controlled animated clips.
